Gender Norms Etiquette in Montenegro

Montenegro is fairly traditional in public gender expectations, so men are often expected to be assertive and protective while women may still be assumed to handle more of the social and family organizing, especially outside the main tourist areas. In cities this is changing quickly, but older relatives, village settings, and formal family gatherings can still reflect a more conservative, patriarchal style of interaction.
