Lithuanians usually value a reserved, polite style: greet people with a firm handshake and direct eye contact, and address strangers or older people more formally until invited to be casual. In shops, restaurants, and public transport, quiet behavior and personal space are appreciated, while loud conversation or overly familiar joking with people you do not know well can come across as rude.
