Recycling Etiquette in Liberia

Recycling is not yet a strong everyday norm in Liberia, so travelers should not expect widespread sorting of paper, plastic, and glass at homes, markets, or public places. In Monrovia and a few larger businesses or NGOs you may see occasional collection efforts, but most waste is still handled through general disposal or informal reuse rather than a formal recycling system.
