Always ask permission before photographing people, especially in rural areas, markets, and around religious or ceremonial gatherings, because many Liberians consider unsolicited photos intrusive. Government buildings, military sites, checkpoints, and some community events may also be off-limits or sensitive, so it is best to check first and respect a refusal without pressing the issue.
