Greetings Etiquette in Liberia

Greetings in Liberia are usually warm and extended, with a handshake, a smile, and a few polite questions about family or health before getting to business. In many communities, especially outside Monrovia, it is respectful to greet elders first and not rush the exchange, and in some Muslim areas men and women may avoid direct physical contact unless they know each other well.
