Recycling Etiquette in Ivory Coast

Recycling is not yet a strong everyday habit in most of Ivory Coast, so travelers should not expect the separate collection systems common in Europe or North America and should use the bins or disposal options provided by hotels, malls, or offices. In Abidjan and a few larger institutions, you may see growing awareness around plastic and waste sorting, but informal disposal and reuse are still more common than formal recycling programs.
