Alcohol Etiquette in Ivory Coast

Alcohol is widely accepted in Ivory Coast, especially in cities and at social gatherings, but it is still polite to drink moderately and avoid getting visibly drunk in public. In more traditional or Muslim-majority areas, and during family or community events, people may prefer you to wait for the host to offer a drink and to show restraint rather than pressing for another round.
