Public displays of affection are generally accepted in Greece, especially in cities and tourist areas, so holding hands, hugging, or a quick kiss is usually unremarkable. Very overt or prolonged intimacy is still best kept for private settings, and older or more conservative people may prefer a more restrained style in churches, villages, or family gatherings.
