Money talk is usually handled discreetly in Egypt, so avoid openly discussing your salary, someone else’s income, or how much you paid unless the conversation is clearly among close friends or family. In markets and taxis, bargaining is normal and expected, but it is still better to keep the exchange polite and light rather than turning prices into a blunt comparison of who can afford what.
