Dining Etiquette in Egypt

Meals are usually shared generously, and it is polite to accept at least a little of what is offered, especially tea, coffee, or food when visiting someone’s home. In more traditional settings, people often eat with the right hand and may begin only after the host says to start, while during Ramadan daytime eating in public is generally avoided out of respect for those fasting.
