Meat Etiquette in Egypt

Meat is commonly eaten in Egypt, especially lamb, beef, and chicken, but many families reserve it for the main meal or for guests rather than serving it at every meal. During Ramadan and on festive occasions, meat dishes such as kofta, kebab, and stuffed pigeon are especially common, while pork is generally avoided because most Egyptians are Muslim.
