Punctuality Etiquette in Ecuador

Being a little late is often socially acceptable in Ecuador, especially for informal gatherings, so arriving 10 to 20 minutes after the stated time is usually not seen as rude. For business meetings, appointments, and official events, though, people are expected to be on time or only slightly delayed, while social plans may still start more flexibly than in stricter punctuality cultures.
