Photography Etiquette in Dominican Republic

Ask before photographing people, especially in rural areas, markets, and around religious events, because many Dominicans are happy to pose but dislike being snapped without permission. It is usually fine to take pictures of beaches, street scenes, and colonial architecture, but be discreet with police, military sites, and private homes, where locals may object or expect a small tip for a portrait.
