Gender Norms Etiquette in Croatia

Croatia is generally fairly egalitarian in public life, so men and women usually mix freely at work, in social settings, and when traveling, and it is normal for women to dine, drink, and go out unaccompanied. Traditional expectations can still be more conservative in some families and smaller towns, where men may be expected to take the lead in formal introductions or paying the bill, but these habits are social rather than strict rules.
