Punctuality Etiquette in Colombia

Being a little late is often socially acceptable in Colombia, especially for casual gatherings, so arriving 15 to 30 minutes after the stated time is usually not seen as rude. For business meetings, appointments, and formal events, though, people are expected to be much closer to on time, and showing up promptly signals respect even if the atmosphere around everyday plans is more relaxed.
