Coffee is a point of pride in Colombia, so it is normal to offer guests a small cup of
tinto, a sweetened black coffee, and to accept it politely even if you only want a little. Tea is much less central in daily life, though in cooler highland areas people may drink herbal infusions or hot chocolate instead, and coffee is usually the default hot drink at home, in offices, and after meals.
