Meat Etiquette in Colombia

Meat is a central part of everyday meals in Colombia, especially beef, chicken, and pork, and a hearty plate with rice, beans, and plantains is often seen as a normal lunch or dinner. In many regions, especially the Andes and the Caribbean coast, grilled meats and slow-cooked dishes like ajiaco with chicken or bandeja paisa with multiple meats are common, while some families may serve less meat on Fridays or during religious observances.
