Smoking Etiquette in Bolivia

Smoking is generally tolerated in outdoor public spaces and some bars or restaurants, but you should not smoke in enclosed public places, on public transport, or in taxis unless the driver clearly allows it. In homes and at social gatherings, it is polite to ask first, and many Bolivians will step outside for a cigarette rather than smoke around elders, children, or during a meal.
