Photography Etiquette in Bolivia

Ask before photographing people, especially Indigenous communities, market vendors, and anyone in traditional dress, because many Bolivians consider it intrusive or expect a small payment. In places like the Witches’ Market in La Paz, some stalls and ceremonies are explicitly off-limits to cameras, and at festivals or religious events it is polite to wait for a clear signal rather than shooting freely.
