Smoking Etiquette in Sudan

Smoking is generally tolerated in public in Sudan, but do not smoke in mosques, government offices, hospitals, or around people who are eating or praying unless you see others doing so first. In more conservative settings, especially outside Khartoum, it is polite to ask before lighting up and to avoid smoking in front of elders or women who may find it disrespectful.
