Greetings Etiquette in Sudan

Greetings in Sudan are usually warm and extended, with a handshake, a smile, and a few polite questions about health and family before getting to the point. Men often greet each other with the right hand and may hold the handshake longer than visitors expect, while greetings between unrelated men and women can be more restrained unless the woman initiates contact.
