Photography Etiquette in Somalia

Always ask permission before photographing people, especially women, elders, religious figures, and anyone in conservative or rural areas, because many Somalis consider unsolicited photos intrusive or disrespectful. Avoid taking pictures of military sites, checkpoints, government buildings, and some mosques or public gatherings, as security concerns and local sensitivities can make photography unwelcome or risky.
