Queueing is often looser than in Northern Europe, so in shops, post offices, and bus stops people may crowd the counter or ask who is last rather than forming a strict single line. In busy situations, a calm but firm presence helps, and locals usually accept a bit of jostling as normal, though cutting in front of someone who has clearly been waiting can still draw complaints.
