Recycling Etiquette in Panama

Recycling is still uneven in Panama, so travelers should not assume that every hotel, street bin, or restaurant separates paper, plastic, and glass. In Panama City and some upscale neighborhoods you may see labeled collection points or private recycling programs, but outside those areas waste is often mixed, so it is best to follow the bins provided and not leave recyclables beside them.
