Physical Touch Etiquette in Libya

Physical touch between unrelated men and women is usually kept very limited in public, so a handshake may be skipped unless the other person clearly offers it first. Among same-sex friends and relatives, greetings can be warmer and may include handshakes, cheek kisses, or a hand on the shoulder, but public displays of affection are generally avoided.
