Bargaining Etiquette in Latvia

Bargaining is generally uncommon in Latvia, so in shops, supermarkets, taxis with meters, and most restaurants you should expect fixed prices and pay what is marked. The main exceptions are flea markets, private sales, and some souvenir stalls, where a polite, modest negotiation may work, but pushing hard is usually seen as awkward rather than clever.
