Drinking Water Etiquette in Ireland

Tap water is generally safe to drink throughout Ireland, and in homes, pubs, and restaurants it is normal to ask for a glass of tap water rather than bottled water. In rural areas or older buildings, locals may still use a kitchen filter or mention if the water is from a private well, but this is the exception rather than the rule.
