Bargaining is generally not expected in Ireland for everyday purchases, taxis, pubs, shops, or services, and prices are usually taken as fixed. The main exceptions are informal settings like car boot sales, private secondhand sales, or some market stalls, where a light, friendly haggle may be accepted but pushing hard can come across as rude.
