Recycling Etiquette in Honduras

Recycling is not yet a strong everyday norm in Honduras, so travelers should not expect the kind of careful sorting or widespread curbside collection common in more recycling-focused countries. In cities you may see informal recycling through street collectors and neighborhood buyers of cardboard, plastic, and metal, while in many places waste is simply mixed together, so it is best to separate your own trash only if a hotel, business, or local program clearly asks for it.
