Shared taxis and minibuses are the normal way to get around, and they often leave only when full rather than on a fixed schedule, so expect waits and crowded rides. In Conakry and between towns, people commonly negotiate fares before boarding and may use moto-taxis for short trips, while road conditions and traffic can make journeys much slower than the distance suggests.
