Dining Etiquette in Guinea

Meals are usually eaten with the right hand or a spoon, and it is polite to wait for the host to invite you to start and to accept at least a little of what is offered. In many homes and at communal meals, especially for dishes like rice with sauce or fouti, sharing from a common bowl is normal, so wash your hands first and avoid using the left hand to pass food or money.
