Drinking Water Etiquette in Central African Republic
In the Central African Republic, it is normal to rely on bottled, boiled, or otherwise treated water for drinking, especially in towns and when traveling, because safe tap water is not consistently available. In rural areas people often drink from wells, springs, or communal sources after treatment, and visitors are expected to be cautious rather than assume water from the tap is safe.
