People generally queue in an orderly way at banks, government offices, ferry terminals, and busy shops, and it is normal to wait your turn rather than push ahead. In informal settings the line may be looser than in larger cities, but cutting in is still frowned on and a polite greeting before joining the queue is appreciated.
