Sustainability is usually expressed through practical frugality: people reuse bags, avoid wasting food, and expect you to sort trash only where recycling bins are actually provided. In cities like Skopje and Ohrid, eco-minded habits are growing, but outside the main urban areas everyday environmental awareness is still more about saving money and resources than following a formal green lifestyle.
