Gender Norms Etiquette in Moldova

Moldova is fairly traditional in public gender expectations, so men are often expected to be courteous and protective while women may still be assumed to handle more of the social and family-facing roles, especially outside Chisinau. In cities the norms are more relaxed and younger people are more egalitarian, but older generations may still notice if a man does not offer a seat, open a door, or let a woman go first in a formal setting.
