Alcohol Etiquette in Kiribati

Alcohol is not part of everyday social life in most of Kiribati, and visitors should be discreet, avoid public drunkenness, and never assume drinking is acceptable in villages or around families. In some places alcohol is restricted or frowned on because of strong church influence and local community rules, so it is best to ask first and follow the lead of hosts rather than bringing it up casually.
