Tipping is appreciated in Ethiopia but usually modest, and in many everyday places a small amount or rounding up the bill is enough rather than a fixed percentage. In hotels, restaurants, and for guides or drivers, people may leave a little extra for good service, but it is not as rigidly expected as in some countries and can be skipped if service charges are already included.
