Recycling Etiquette in Ethiopia

Recycling is not yet a strong everyday norm in Ethiopia, so travelers should not expect widespread curbside sorting or separate bins in homes, shops, or public places. In Addis Ababa and other larger cities, some hotels, offices, and NGOs do separate plastics, paper, and glass, but outside those settings waste is often mixed and informal reuse or collection is more common than formal recycling.
