Dress is generally casual and light because of the tropical climate, but beachwear should stay on the beach and more covered clothing is expected in town, shops, and especially churches or government offices. For evenings out or special events, Antiguans and Barbudans often dress neatly and modestly, with a polished look preferred over very revealing outfits.
