Clothing Etiquette in Algeria

Dress modestly in public, especially outside major cities and in religious settings: women commonly cover shoulders and knees, and men avoid very short shorts or sleeveless tops. In Algiers and other urban areas you will see a mix of Western clothing and more conservative dress, while during Ramadan and at mosques people tend to be noticeably more covered.
