Greetings are usually warm and fairly formal at first: say hello, shake hands with the
right hand, and use titles and family names until invited to be more casual. Among close friends and relatives, people may exchange cheek kisses or a light embrace, and in more conservative settings men and women who are not related may avoid direct physical contact unless the other person initiates it.
