People generally queue in an orderly, first-come-first-served way at shops, banks, ferry terminals, and government offices, and it is normal to wait your turn rather than push ahead. In busy markets or during island events, lines can feel looser and a polite verbal check with the person ahead is common, but cutting in without asking is still frowned on.
